Attending a Virtual Conference

In Career Services we ask that you share your successes and professional development experiences. The Walden Career Services team recently attended a 3 day Virtual Career Conference and we want to share our experience. Attending this conference was a great way to start off 2013 as a team. It is always nice to get away from the desk and digest new information with colleagues, and that is exactly what we were able to do at this conference. It was also good timing as we were setting our work goals for 2013 and we were given many ideas on how we can continue to offer the best resources and services for our students.

We came across this conference by staying up to date on our LinkedIn group discussions, another reason to be on LinkedIn and active in groups. This was the first time any of us had attended a virtual conference and we all enjoyed the opportunity. If this is something available for you in your field we highly recommend you take advantage and register. It was cost and time effective because there was no travel, and we have unlimited access to the recorded sessions. It is amazing what technology allows us to have access to!
